Laser Welding Solution for Thin Stainless Steel Tubes

Laser Welding Solution for Thin Stainless Steel Tubes

In January 2026, ZAC Laser received a technical inquiry from a customer in Thailand who needed to weld stainless steel tubes with a diameter of 3 mm and a wall thickness of 0.2 mm. The weld seams needed to be clean in appearance, well sealed, and strong.

After receiving the samples, the ZAC Laser process team led by engineer Ekko conducted welding trials and selected a platform welding system with a rotary axis as the optimal solution. Because the material was thin-walled, preventing burn-through was the key challenge. By optimizing the optical configuration and laser parameters, the team achieved stable and precise energy control.

The welding was successfully completed using the standard DLW-2000A platform laser welding machine, and the weld appearance, strength, and sealing performance were all approved by the customer.

Before placing the final order, the customer provided new samples with different specifications. To further improve efficiency and welding results, ZAC Laser decided to develop a customized welding system featuring multi-axis linkage and a dedicated clamping mechanism.

By February 2026, the new machine was completed and delivered for testing. After verification, the welding quality fully met the customer’s requirements.
